Event support

Host with UCG.

UCG helps clubs host organized, consistent, and supported events by providing the standards and structure behind the competition.

Registration software, awards, insurance support, hotel blocks, judge-finding help, and a real person in your corner — so you can focus on running a great meet.

Why sanction your competition

Sanctioning is the structure behind the moment.

A sanctioned event gets:

  • Access to registration and scoring software through ScoreFlippers — results post publicly and connect to each member’s account

  • Up to 3 complimentary medals per level

  • Access to discounted hotel bookings

  • Insurance support

  • Potential access to the Healthcare team (dependent on availability)

  • Formal certification

  • Priority listing on the Upcoming Events page

  • Real-time support from an organization representative

  3. 03

Approved requests get an email with instructions on how to proceed — and you’ll be connected to your meet rep 2–3 weeks after submission

Host a meet

How to host, step by step.

  1. 01

    Find a date.

Reach out to host sites over the summer — USAG sets schedules very early. Check spring break schedules for schools in your area to avoid weekends when students are away.

  2. 02

    Decide on sanctioning.

See the benefits above. To sanction your event:

    • Use certified judges.
    • Meet the Safety & Equipment Standards.
    • Submit the sanction request at least 8 weeks before the event.
  3. 03

    Submit your form.

Sanction Request Form for sanctioned events (listed once approved, ~2 weeks after submission), or the non-sanctioned event form (listed immediately).

  4. 04

    Find judges and a trainer.

Request judges by September 1 if you can — definitely by October 15. There are state-by-state instructions on the Finding Judges page. For athletic trainers, Go4 connects events with trainers if your school/gym doesn’t have a source.

  5. 05

    Announce your meet.

Contact your Regional Representative to help advertise, post on Instagram and Facebook, and DM teams you think may want to come.

Host-day extras

Rooms & coverage, handled.

Hotel blocks

Want discounted rooms near your event? Say so in the appropriate part of the sanction request form! Just make sure to fill out the form at least four weeks before the event.

Insurance

For help obtaining event coverage, fill out the appropriate section of the Sanctioning Request Form. We’ll help you obtain coverage, or provide our own insurance if no viable options exist. Allow up to three weeks.

From the floor

Tips from hosts who’ve been there.

Teammates cheer from the sidelines at a UCG meet
  • Offer all the levels.

Judges don’t mind judging several levels in one competition — just separate athletes by level within each rotation, preferably in order of increasing level.

  • Optimize your schedule.

Offering both men’s and women’s events? Think through sharing vault and floor. Some teams start the men’s meet about an hour earlier so those athletes finish vault and floor before the women’s sessions begin.

  • Prep your judges.

Point them to the “Resources for Judges” (WAG/ MAG) sections on the rules pages. Judge Cheat Sheets should be shared in advance and printed 1 copy per judge to distribute at the competition.

  • Offering Unified Artistic Gymnastics?

It’s logistically challenging, but UAG athletes are used to it. At Nationals finals, the onus is on the athlete to get to their event when needed — consider the same policy. If an athlete can’t be at an event when it’s their turn, they scratch.
