Which level should I compete?
If you don’t know which level to choose, use this as a starting guide:
| Experience | Recommended level |
|---|---|
| 0–2 years | Xcel Silver |
| 1–3 years | Xcel Gold |
| 2–5 years | Xcel Platinum |
| 5–8 years | Xcel Diamond or Open Scoring |
| 8+ years | Xcel Sapphire or Open Scoring |
And if you placed in the top five on any event at Nationals last year, you should strongly consider moving up a level.
Open scoring
Open Scoring is our own level, scored on our own rules rather than USAG’s. It sits alongside Xcel Diamond and Xcel Sapphire, and it comes with everything you need to plan a routine and check a start value before you compete it.
