The community division originated because some clubs’ schools will only provide funding for Nationals if it is a collegiate-only competition.

Equipment. For Men’s Level 7 there isn’t enough space in finals because all levels share the same equipment. On the women’s side there are three sets of equipment, which allows finals for three levels — and shrinking the smaller levels’ finals to make room elsewhere would just move the unfairness around.

Being more inclusive means rules that traditional scoring software can’t handle, so volunteers manually check results for every single event — 136 events to verify for finals, and 133 groups of awards once Trampoline & Tumbling and Decathlon are counted.

There are no uniform deductions in any discipline — wear proper attire for doing gymnastics. Tight-fitting apparel that won’t pose a safety threat is required; judges or rules representatives can stop a routine from starting if attire is unsafe (excessively baggy clothing, dangerous jewelry, etc.).

It’s a single waiver for the season, signed when you create your ScoreFlippers account. If you were able to register for Nationals, you’ve already done it.

All banquet tickets (members and non-members) are purchased through ScoreFlippers.

Requests submitted on or before the refund deadline are eligible for a full refund, minus transaction and processing fees. After that date, 75% of fees are refunded — minus fees, and only for extenuating circumstances such as unavoidable travel issues, sickness, injury, bereavement, or similar catastrophic life events. Refunded athletes still receive their check-in materials if they or someone they appoint is present. Membership fees and admissions are non-refundable. To request a refund, complete this form — refunds are processed no later than one week after Nationals.

Several ways: stay with your alma mater’s club on a community team, form a community club with other alumni, create a temporary team for Nationals with people in your region or former teammates, or compete as an Independent Community Athlete or Independent Student Athlete.
